Interlachen is a genuinely rural small town on SR-20 between Palatka and Gainesville, anchored on Interlachen Lake and surrounded by more than twenty named lakes and the Carl Duval Moore State Forest. Founded in 1881 as a rail and citrus town, it stayed residential and lake-centered after the citrus industry collapsed in the 1890s freezes rather than becoming commercial. This is where our own crews are based, so it's the town we know best.
